Thrift by the Dock @ HarbourFront Centre Recap

The amazing energy at Thrift by the Dock @ HarbourFront Centre has left us speechless! Thrift by the Dock was more than just a marketplace; it was a vibrant showcase of Singapore's growing sustainable living movement. We're excited to celebrate yet another successful event, made possible through meaningful partnerships, diverse collaborations, and the constant support of our community.

Over the month from 11 Apr to 11 May 2025, besides over 40+ racks of secondhand treasures, two weekend exclusives quickly became one of the event's highlights. Firstly, REFASH held its first IRL Celebrity Closets event, where celebrities from our existing online Celebrity Closets programme joined us to sell their preloved items. We were also thrilled to welcome new influencers such as Shazza, Huiwen, and Thea - everyone’s favourite icons. Secondly, there were sustainable workshops including upcycling unwanted fabric into bags, building a terrarium, and flower arrangements. The wide variety of choices was well-received, offering something for everyone and catering to diverse preferences.

Together with HarbourFront Centre, we welcomed participants of all ages who came to join in the fun – from young children to even the elderly! It just proves that sustainability transcends boundaries, and REFASH is all for that. Lastly, our weekend exclusives would not have been possible without the booths. REFASH thrives to constantly support local businesses in every possible way, which is why we were proud to provide space to shine light on local talents. From handmade crafts to books, we made sure everyone had something to relate to.

Thrift by the Dock would not have been possible without our partners, Thryft and Pollen Save. Like REFASH, both partners championed sustainability. Thryft offered our consumers a nostalgic alternative – to enjoy the charm of old books and vintage records. These arts are hard to come by in metropolitan Singapore; hence, embracing them with such nostalgia was comforting. Pollen Save provided wallet-friendly prices for everyone’s favourite drug store products, such as Maybelline, Garnier, as well as health and beauty supplements.

We were honoured to have had Fashion Parade’s expertise in the design of our collaborative photowall. It was made up of rejected pieces from REFASH and unwanted fabric from Fashion Parade. Additionally, Fashion Parade’s Pink Globe stood out as the main centrepiece, capturing the attention of all who passed by. Crafted entirely from stray fabrics and unwanted pieces, the Pink Globe is a striking representation of sustainability in fashion. The Pink Globe replicates the exact layout of the world map, as each fabric shapes the continents on Earth.

Of course, every REFASH event would host everyone’s favourite Instant Cash Out (ICO). Everyone walked away happily with INSTANT CASH when they chose to declutter with REFASH! Additionally, many packed bags, wallets, and menswear as they looked forward to the bonus payout they would be eligible for! SAY YES TO DECATHLON GIFT CARDS!

As we look back at Thrift by the Dock, we're filled with gratitude for the month dedicated to conscious living, successful collaborations, and a thriving community. This event reaffirmed that the collective effort to embrace sustainability is gaining incredible momentum, and REFASH is proud to be at the forefront of this positive change.
